I hope this thread isn't out of line but figured this isn't a Fasttech owned webpage so discussing competitors would be ok.
I have heard nothing but horror stories about banggood and that has made me shy away from using the site. Now I have noticed the prices are almost always cheaper on FT anyway so I didn't feel I was missing out on anything. Anyway I needed to get some specific propeller blades for a quad racer of mine. I had a look at a few RC sites. Banggood not only had them but at a cheap price as well.
I figured it wasn't a huge amount of money I would take the punt. So on sunday Jan 30th I placed a order that said would ship of feb 2nd. On that very same day just minutes apart I ordered some batteries from FT that listed "in Stock". Yesterday Feb 1st a day earlier than stated I had that order and one other on Banggood listed shipped. Now today FT the 2nd of Feb my order for the "in stock" batteries is still sitting in the scheduled ship date status with no movement in sight.
Now I do enjoy the prices don't get me wrong, but the failure to deliver on almost any promise made is extremely frustrating. And I have to wonder if Banggood is a better option despite the horror stories. Has anyone here done trading with both places? Is Banggood as bad as people say or is it just fine to use? Did I just get extremely lucky?
Never shopped there. I guess we've heard many "horror stories" about FT as well, yet we all know what's up. Only your own experience counts. But thanks for sharing, I won't hesitate if I ever find something there
And now a day after it was scheduled to ship.... good thing it was just some batteries for a toy and not something I needed urgently. I can almost expect them to still be sitting there until after CNY now. That is frustrating
Live support is great, would be better if it wasn't constantly needed
Connie (Staff): ; Connie (Staff): Hello, may i help you? →A012967862 will this ship before CNY. it was suppose to ship feb 2 Connie (Staff): 3730301 Connie (Staff): is not yet ready →i can see it is not ready. will it ship before CNY Connie (Staff): it will ship after the holiday Connie (Staff): as the order is not yet ready →thank you for disappointing me on another order. That is the last 5 orders that have had a problem.
I've only ordered from BangGood once, but had no problems. Their web pages are flashy and hard to navigate, like other china vendors, FT being the best of the lot. I still order from FT, but I don't hesitate going elsewhere if the price is reasonable and they have the items I want. Probably less chance of receiving used shit or defective items returned by previous customers.
As for prices, I've found that if I'm patient, I can often find sale items in the US which are cheaper than FT. (And without being defaced or tampered with for purposes of FT's anonymity.)
I don't know how bad Banggood support would be if needed, but it can't be much worse than FT (stalling, haggling, outright lies, demanding videos posted on the customer's own youtube account, and asking for all traces of FT involvement be kept secret FFS). Most folks probably give up and write it off as a loss, not being worth the time and effort to jump through all the hoops they drag out whenever there is a problem.
I've also ordered from bestgear, with no problem, but again, since there was no problem, it isn't a fair comparison.
I used to be a 100% loyal FT customer, but have had enough problems that I don't hesitate to go to other vendors; still, I'm glad FT is around.
Received an e-mail asking if I needed help with items in basket....dayum boy, stalk much are ya
LOL, Lots of vendors do that, not just the Chinese. Doesn't really bother me, but most of them have settings in your account where you can turn off different kinds of emails.
just a update, Items received from banggood 2 days ago well packaged and all in good condition.
Fasttech order made on same day Feb 2nd of items "in stock" two days before chinese new year holiday is still waiting to get stock.
ETA 2/19/2016 (in 3 days) Scheduled Ship Date: 2/19/2016
In the meantime I have placed another order at banggood and it shipped same day.
EDIT: Just to note the order is some standard R/C batteries that have been around for years. Not some brand new highly demanded item. To be fair to fasttech the average price is around $25.00 and they are offering them at $15.00. So I can wait for that kind of discount. mostly its the "in stock" crap that is aggravating.
